The Challenge

Our client lacked a company-wide strategy for platform and application management, resulting in limited cross-platform/domain alignment and a focus on “Makes vs Buy” decisions instead of reusing existing capabilities. The current landscape planning followed organizational lines, rather than being focused on capabilities, leading to silos and inefficiencies. 

Our platform strategy approach delivered a clear target picture for management, redesigned the platform architecture, and established core principles, resulting in increased speed and synergies, and a future-ready roadmap for long-term success. 

The Approach

Our project involved developing a comprehensive strategy for platform and application management. Our approach included an application and platform landscape analysis, domain model development, platform architecture redesign, and a set of way forward recommendations. 

We conducted an as-is analysis and deep-dive assessments via stakeholder interviews and holistic data analysis. We developed a suitable domain model proposal and mapped the as-is landscape. We developed platform categories to highlight gaps and potentials in the existing landscape. 

We established core strategic principles, translated our findings into actionable recommendations, and provided a proposed transformation roadmap to ensure long-term success. This helped our client prioritize key areas for improvement and implement changes for success.
