Defining an IT Framework to Manage a Swiss Pharmaceutical Company’s Mergers and Acquisitions Activities

Building a program management tool based on best practices to successfully carve out an IT production site

The Challenge

A Swiss pharmaceutical company approached us for help after selling one of its production sites to a newly founded company. The challenge was that it needed a framework to manage a complex IT carve out as there were more than 50 projects on a business application and IT infrastructure level, all within a “good practice quality guidelines and regulations”- or “GxP”- relevant environment.

With our industry expertise, we understood the meaning and relevance of GxP for the pharmaceutical company, tackling upcoming topics within IT efficiently.

The approach

We supported the pharmaceutical company by setting up an IT mergers and acquisitions (M&A) framework based on proven best practices. We also managed the whole IT program including the application and infrastructure stream for the IT carve out of the production site.

The result

Based on our IT M&A best practice framework, we managed more than 50 projects related to the company’s IT carve out. We also ensured transparency throughout, taking care of the complexity involved. The implementation of the customer-specific IT M&A framework also means the organization is now ready for upcoming M&A activities.

Let’s create sustainable change together.
