The Challenge
Highly individual integration and functionality of former standard system (> 20 years of development). Successively increasing risks and (former low) costs. Several unsuccessful attempts of redesign or replacement of the system.
The approach
Specifying the needs for developing an RFP. Core function of the system, Business & IT service model. Provider selection, Long List: Research of potential providers incl. RFI, first evaluation, high level TOM and modular strategy. Short list: Use case RFP, functional & technical requirements and live presentation
Final round: Selection of 2-3 optional providers; Focus on differentiators; Commercial negotiations. Decision support and ramp-up, Support c-level decisions, High level plan for migration project (time, cost, resources), Project preparation: organisation, migration path, sourcing IT and business. Support of the implementation project, Key role in steering and management of the overall project, Responsibility for several sub-projects, Reporting of project progress and status on management level.
The result
Praxis proven step-by-step approach leads to successful RFP. Major features for success, Early clarification of boundaries (e.g. make or buy), Use case based validation of solutions and systems, Target operating model as a central base for the decision. Successful steering and management of a complex implementation project.
