The VUCA world describes our new reality of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. Like the great explorers at the beginning of the modern age, we have to find our way in this new world and adapt our organisations to it. The first sailors set sail without knowing what to expect. Over time, we have developed tools to make risks manageable. For Christopher Columbus, the voyage to America was a life-threatening adventure. Today, it is nothing special for us.
High security standards are mandatory in the financial market. In the past, it was usually sufficient, limit security measures to regulated or commercial applications, as in the case of of SOX 404 or the payment card industry (PCI).

Open Banking as a chance
Banks have always been expected to be highly resilient. In the past, thick vault doors ensured the integrity of a bank and the assets entrusted to it. And the assets entrusted to them, whereas today, digital vaults are increasingly protected by elaborate cyber security measures. Regulators are also imposing rules aimed at to ensure the resilience of banks even in times of crisis.
