Engineering AI-Resilient Defense Systems with Paul Vixie

Professionals discussing ideas during a business meeting

How is AI changing the cyber threat landscape, and how should security architectures evolve in response?

In this exclusive deep dive, internet pioneer Dr. Paul Vixie shares his perspective on the technical and strategic challenges of AI-driven cyberattacks. Together with participants, he will explore modern attack surfaces, identify structural weaknesses and examine how organizations can prepare their cyber defenses for attacks that are becoming faster and increasingly scalable.

Rather than focusing on individual tools or short-lived trends, the workshop looks at robust architectures, effective threat modeling and practical approaches to building long-term cyber resilience.

The workshop is organized by SIGS and hosted at Eraneos in Zurich. We are pleased to provide the setting for this exclusive exchange.

Who is this workshop for?

The workshop is designed for CISOs, CTOs, VPs of Security, Heads of Cyber Security, Chief Architects and Senior Risk Executives who want to explore the impact of AI on their security architecture and cybersecurity strategy in greater depth.

The participation fee is CHF 500 per person.

About Paul Vixie

Dr. Paul Vixie is a computer scientist and one of the pioneers who helped shape the internet as we know it today. He has made significant contributions to the development and operation of the Domain Name System (DNS) and has spent decades working on the resilience and security of critical internet infrastructure.

In addition to his work on DNS technologies, he has made important contributions to the open-source community and developed several widely used UNIX system programs. His extensive experience combines deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of today’s cybersecurity challenges.

About the workshop

In this five-hour interactive deep dive, Paul Vixie combines technical fundamentals with practical scenarios. Participants will explore how attackers are using modern infrastructure and AI, where traditional security approaches reach their limits, and how defensive mechanisms can evolve without compromising business operations.

Alongside the technical aspects, the workshop will also address how cyber risks can be translated into priorities for management and board-level decision-making.

Agenda

1. Modern attack surfaces and security architecture
Duration: 1 hour

How is AI-driven automation changing today’s attack surface? This session explores key principles of DNS, network hygiene and infrastructure-level security. A practical architecture exercise will help participants identify structural weaknesses in enterprise environments.

2. Shadow AI and protecting sensitive corporate data
Duration: 1 hour

Generative AI, LLM APIs and third-party integrations create new opportunities, but also introduce new risks for corporate data. This session explores how organizations can assess and control these risks and establish practical AI governance without imposing blanket restrictions on the use of AI.

Lunch, Duration: 1 hour

3. Cyber defense against AI-accelerated attacks
Duration: 1.5 hours

Automated attack methods are challenging traditional SOC processes. This session focuses on modern approaches to incident response and containment, including a practical scenario covering highly targeted phishing and deepfake threats.

4. From technical risk to the CISO and board agenda
Duration: 1.5 hours

How can technical insights be translated into clear management decisions? Participants will explore how to assess emerging AI security risks, prioritize meaningful actions and develop their own 90-day AI resilience roadmap as a practical outcome of the workshop.
